This seminar answers the question raised by many business owners "How can my business be profitable if I have no cash?" In it you will learn the cash flow cycle and how the length of the cycle dictates the level of cash needed. Techniques for squeezing cash flow are presented, along with ideas on how to finance your new big order. The seminar ends with a discussion of several types of debt available and their related financing costs. Often an understanding of these key concepts can provide your business with the impetus it needs to launch a profitable expansion.

Two speakers will bring their expertise to you in an easy-to-grasp manner. Each speaker will provide free handouts covering his or her area.

Ken Kaplan is a licensed CPA and holds an MBA from Indiana University. As CFO of Asheville-based American Threshold, he negotiated the buyout of the company by a Fortune 100 competitor after a period of explosive growth. As interim CFO, he coordinated the acquisition of Beacon Blankets from its distressed owner, Pillowtex.

Joe Ward is a banker with Mountain 1st Bank and Trust.
